I love my Gypsy Grippers and I love my Supreme Slider.
My mini iron was a waste of money. The best tool I've purchased bar none is the Cut-Rite Bind-up Tool. It's the first thing I've used that helps me get my bindings perfect -- and believe me, I've tried everything else. |
Can't help but adding one more item of interest abut the Purple Thang.. My friend had prepared lobsters for dinner and she could not find any seafood picks so she and her husband used 2 Purple Thangs and they worked great.

I, too, did not like this ruler for about 10 yrs. Then, being the frugal person that I am, I tried it again and (drumroll please!) LOVE it! I could not be without it. Just GENTLY insert the rotary cutter in the teardrop opening of the slot (kind of letting gravity allow the blade to settle in the slot) so that you do not nick the ruler or cutter blade. Pretty soon you will get enough practice to develop a "rythym" of making many parallel cuts quickly. In fact, I often use the outside edges to make straight cuts (like cutting a square in half to make 2 HSTs) so that I do not need to use another tool. Please give it another try. Who knows? Maybe you will also be a convert!

you can buy a pkg of 3 mechanical pencils with #9 lead....replace them with Fons and Porter refills...I bought the white one and the dark one is carbon, I believe...I really like it because it gives you a nice fine line

Yes - the rotary cutter sharpener is a total waste of money. Doesn't work at all. The chalk marking pen doesn't work either. :(
But, the pen with a rotary wheel on the marking end and loose chalk inside, works like a charm. Especially when you need to mark the cloth right before sewing. :) |
My ponce works for me. Maybe I hold my mouth right? :)

I'm wondering what a 'purple thang' is , also.
