My favorite story is, back when every fabric that came in the house got washed, I was out back hanging the colorful half and quarter yards out to dry on a sunny, breezy day. When my DH walked by and commented, "How many times do you have to wash this fabric?" I suppressed the urge to laugh out loud and, treating it as a rhetorical question, smiled and said nothing.
I recognize that I have more beautiful fabric than I could ever use in a lifetime ~ just wish that would stop me from buying more "just this one more time." I need to shop in my stash more! |
I haven't read this threqad, in case it would give me more ideas, so this may have already been mentioned, but I kept plastic bags with other store's logos on them in my van, so I could transfer the goodies out of the Joanns bags

for those of you who don't have to sneak, you're missing a lot of fun. my husband wouldn't care if i bought an elephant (as long as it didn't sleep in our bed), and fabric takes up even less space. i think of it as a game of intrigue.

I feel the same way, as does he, it's more of a game
I've been a SAHW for 25 years, I think the bags of fabric are kind of a way that he proves to himself that he's a good provider |
i like the extra bags technique. i'll have to give it a go! lol

I love this one! Don't have this problem with DH no.3. When married to No.2 I got really good at sneaking fabric into the house.
1. Always carry extra grocery bags with you, they make great camo for fabric. Husbands don't usually want to help put the food away anyway. 2. Tell DH you are going to the library for another book. You can get at least 2 yards between two books. 3. If you carry your stuff for work in a tote bag, you can put the fabric in the bottom and the stuff from work on top of it. Face it he isn't going to help you unpack your lunch tote. |
i hope everyone is aware of the contest--she who has the most fabric when she dies wins! LOL i'm definitely in the front of the pack!

I've got the coffee cup that says that to remind me!

Usually don't have to hide but have occassionly left fabric in the trunk of the car to bring in when he was sleeping.
