If I already had a space, it would definitely be either a sewing cabinet for my machine or a long arm

Debbie C 11-03-2011 05:08 PM

money was no object? I'd have unlimited fabrics and a long-arm quilting machine.

SaraSewing 11-03-2011 05:14 PM

i'd add on, make it a bigger room! My little "closet" size room is fun, but I'd love to have enough room to lay things out without running to another room.

Lori S 11-03-2011 05:23 PM

With an unlimited budget ... I would get a great sewing cabinet , one where my machine bed is level with the cabinet surface, one with drop down extentions.
Whats the one thing I could not give up.... great lighting. Nothing makes me more crazy than to have shadows in my work space. When I had my space modified to be a sewing room the workman thought I was nuts when it came to lighting. I wanted the ability to have it bright as daylight .. if it was midnight.

CarrieC 11-03-2011 05:50 PM

Couldn't live without my needle and thread (and sewing machine) - sorry couldn't limit myself.

And a long arm sewing machine if price weren't an object.

Gladys 11-03-2011 05:53 PM

It would be a good light. No matter how much light I seem to have I need more.

Digitizingqueen 11-03-2011 05:54 PM

hmmmm - I would take everything out of my sewing room and have it custom designed with shelving and cabinets (A bigger room that would fit my long arm as well would be great) but also custom designed

What I can't live without is my Viking dewing machine

Sheila_H 11-03-2011 05:55 PM

Long Arm with a frame, I plan on taking over our second rec room in the basement so I'd have plenty of room for it, the one thing I couldn't do without my 12 1/2" square up ruler.

LLWinston44 11-03-2011 08:36 PM

Long arm!!!

a STUDIO and my stash!

createfourpaws 11-03-2011 08:39 PM

If money not an worry, I would want the long arm machine and all supplies to start a business, an awesome sewing studio. Can't live without my Janome sewing machines.

LAQUITA 11-03-2011 08:48 PM

More space, & my sewing machine

klc 11-04-2011 12:01 AM

Maybe a larger sewing room. I have a bedroom right now that is a little crowded. And, always more stash!

stitchengramie 11-04-2011 12:49 AM

More shelves and clear container boxes to put my fabric kits in that I make up. And a better way to store fabric.

Aurora 11-04-2011 12:59 AM

A house to hold the quilting/sewing room.

meemersmom 11-04-2011 01:30 AM

Would love a mid- or long-arm machine and frame. Had the chance to test drive one and love it. I don't think I could function well without my 60mm Olfa safety rotary cutter.

SunlitenSmiles 11-04-2011 03:00 AM

a house with a huge sewing room

my packet of size 12 betweens

Buttons922 11-04-2011 03:03 AM

to add:
Thread cabinet
quilting frames

Panchita 11-04-2011 03:14 AM

If unlimited budget I'd have a larger house with a big dedicated sewing space (and someone else to clean the rest of the house!).

Slightly more realistic: I'm currently jonesing for a Brother Innovis 750 embroidery machine. Not going to happen any time soon due to budgets, but....

Couldn't live without: stash and computer!!

Quilt-Till-U-Wilt 11-04-2011 03:16 AM

I'd like to add a cutting table. I have limited space so need a drop leaf or something that folds. Just haven't come up with the right thing yet. I wouldn't want to be without my 1/4 inch foot.

jerseystitcher 11-04-2011 03:39 AM

Definitely space! What could I not live without? Definitely a rotary cutter.

Just Me... 11-04-2011 03:40 AM

I agree--space. I tried to be the bigger person and take the smallest bedroom. Big mistake! I 'need' a design wall again! I used to have one and my floor isn't big enough!

bonnyh 11-04-2011 03:42 AM

I'd buy a new longarm with a 26" throat. Couldn't live without? My Elna Quilter's Pro. Love that machine.

damaquilts 11-04-2011 03:46 AM

Space for sure. Second would be a good sewing machine table that my Brother drops into and a really good cutting table thats not falling apart. But there is money involved in all that. Besides that It would be my own place so I could use my whole house for my sewing room if I wanted. LOL

jpmaroni 11-04-2011 03:50 AM

Sewing Machine, could not do without. I'd love an embrodery machine if I could have anything.

Pieces2 11-04-2011 04:14 AM

Space, I would love to have a big open wall so I could have a design wall.
I could not live/sew without my Bernina sewing machines. :-)

lovelyl 11-04-2011 04:21 AM

A beautiful, like new Singer 15-91 to do FMQ. Or a beautiful 15-91 clone in a great color... Or... Or.... Or....:p

Lavada 11-04-2011 04:23 AM

space what i could not do without this grat quilt board and the great info it provides

RenaB 11-04-2011 04:30 AM

My cutting mat and rotary blade. Makes life so much easier!!

peppermint31 11-04-2011 04:35 AM

If money was plentiful, I would get a Horn sewing table. The one with the adjustable height. I could not live without my rotary cutters

GlitzyMe 11-04-2011 04:46 AM

Looks like most of us would love more space regardless of how much we already have. I've been trying to talk my hubby into breaking down the wall between the sewingroom and guestroom but every time he agrees something changes my mind. Oh well........

I can't even imagine not having a sewing machine!

Jersey Gal 11-04-2011 04:53 AM

A needle threader is my best friend.

karenpatrick 11-04-2011 05:11 AM

A studio.

I can't get along without my sewing machine.

I can live without any of it, but could not quilt without at least one sewing machine.

Or even cabinets and countertops on three wall.

Quilty-Louise 11-04-2011 06:56 AM

No doubts about it I would HAVE to get me a MUCH bigger
sewing room and fill it with tons of storage drawers, shelves
and add in some new machines huge cutting surface.

What I can't live without?
My computer and online quilting friends. Since I do not
have many friends who UNDERSTAND my need for the
fabric stash I love being able to discuss my need for
sewing and quilting heck even for designing a quilt layout.

joygaddy 11-04-2011 07:05 AM

I would get my Phaff 2140 repaired....one of the boards is apparently dead and I can't afford to get it repaired (and the nearest dealer is 100 miles away). Then I would learn to use it to it's capacity! Oh yes..then I would send all my finished tops to Charisma to quilt for me!!

What I wouldn't want to live without would be my stash and sewing machine that works!

wildyard 11-04-2011 07:22 AM

I'd hate to have to do without my rotary cutter and my shape cut ruler for cutting strips. With my neck and arm problem, I couldn't cut my pieces if I had to use scissors. What I'd like to add, well, more space would be good, but I'd probably just fill that up too, LOL. So instead I'll choose better lighting for my room.

franc36 11-04-2011 07:41 AM

If money was no problem, I'd have a much larger sewing room. My sewing room is too small. The one thing I would not want to do without is my Bernina sewing machine.

penski 11-04-2011 08:09 AM

i would love to have a HQ16 sit down machine

i would be lost without my large space i have to use my big cutting mat, rotary cutters and my Ott light !!!!

quiltgal 11-04-2011 08:17 AM

I would buy the fanciest Gammill Longarm quilting machine with the Statler stitcher! What I have that I can't live without... that is harder because there are several things.. probably my fancy Rowenta iron.
