I LOVE that panel. I'm with kkdolls......what brand is it? I will be looking all over for that one. Please show us a picture when you finish.

I think some star blocks in different sizes and in various shades of blue would look gorgeous. Maybe start the darker stars in the bottom left corner and work across with the lighter colors to the top right side.
|
To me it calls out for log cabin blocks in blue and grey and then some kind of stars. Maybe something neutral or plain between rounds to call the eye back to the center. The back definitely needs to be flannel. This just looks like the beginning of a "cabin quilt" if that makes sense.

It would make a spectacular Attic Windows quilt attic window quilt pattern! You could remove the border, add the "window frames," and re-attach the borders, augmented with whatever you wanted to accommodate the new size.
It's a beautiful panel. I can't wait to see what you do with it! |

I just finished a quilt using a panel. The pattern is call Winter Magic
http://www.northcott.net/?sid=3&layo...8&colid=559but its perfect for a panel you might have to trim the borders off and use them some where else in quilt. Here the same pattern but in Asian prints and with an Asian panel. Hope it give you some ideas :-) |
That is gorgeous! My husband would love it. Keep it simple.n borders, maybe cornerstones, done.
now "me", I am the attic window junkie . But my husband would want to see the panel as a whole. sandy |
I would also cut it up into thirds and then treat it as an attic window. I have seen many of these done and they are wonderful and yours would create such a beautiful outdoor scene.

check out a pattern called Side Lights. I used it for a panel much like your and it came out beautifully!
|
I think I would pull some blues and browns from the panel and make some simple blocks around the outside and the borders.

Plain borders , snowflakes or blue pinwheels. not too much to take away from beautiful panel!!! Beautiful!!!! Just what I been looking for!!
