Hi!
I love making dresden plates, I try to work one into every project. Do you guys have a favorite pattern or a fall back pattern? I am a novice quilter so, I love to look at lots of patterns. Thanks! Afton |
My favorite pattern is WeatherVane. I think I've done it in every color combination, quilt and table runner size. It can be very different depending on fabrics. Plus it's quick and easy when I need something in a hurry.
|
My favorite pattern is always the next one that I decide to make. Then when I'm 3/4 of the way through, my wandering eye is already looking for my next favorite.
|
So many to choose from but my favorite (because it goes together quickly) is the D9P
|
I love anything applique...just something abt cutting out those pices by hand..I machine sew....but want to try hand applique once I find the time.
Sunbonnet Sue and Vintage looking butterflies are my favorites. Also love PP |
There's something about stars and patriotic themes that just calls to me.

:XD: me too! i also love the old fashioned 9 patch with a muslin block seperating them.. |
I have to agree with Jennie :D For me to answer, would be like picking one fchild in the family to be my favorite..... just can't. Nopers on that --- couldn't if I had too.

I really love intricate piecing. Kaleidoscoped blocks are a standby for me...I just love how they turn out! I'm also the sucker for tiny piecing. I'll make a twin size quilt out of 1" squares, swear I'll never do it again, and start something similar to it the next day. Right now I'm doing a queen size quilt using 2" half-triangle blocks. I hate it, swear I'll never do it again, and my quilt kit to make 4" courthouse steps for a throw just came in...I'll never learn, I just love the finished project too much. :)

I am a pattern junkie, I play no favorites.
And the real question is my favorite I want to do, have done, or just like looking at the picture on the pattern? |
If we're talking which one I would gladly do again, it's Aunt Sukeys Choice that I did for a GD
|
Log cabin at the moment.
|
Log cabin-hard to make a mistake................
|
snowball + 9-patch is one of my favorites as the blocks are so easy and they make a nice pattern when put together.

Needleturn Applique is my fav... it is a technique not a pattern, but I love it.
On my to do list are a couple of Baltimore Albums, a self designed fire quilt for my son, and a self designed archeology quilt for my daughter. |
I don't have a favorite one, but my old standby that I fall back on if I need a quick quilt is the Churn Dash. I do love the Dresden Plates too. Can't pick a favorite.
|
I like traditional blocks like log cabin, broken dishes, jacob's ladder, etc.
|
Working on my 1st dresden plate. It is fast becoming my favorite. But truly, I've enjoyed every thing I've done so far.

My all time favorite is the log cabin! I've made other patterns, but always go back and make another log cabin.

Depends on which day you ask me......always up to trying a new one. I love them all!

An amazing amount of piecing - but my favorite is avatar pic - Indian Orange Peel by Karen Stone

I also love to work on different patterns and love each one I make. I usually don't make a pattern more than once or twice.

I really like log cabin. So many options with it.
|
I love anything scrappy. The more fabrics the better. My favs are log cabin, and Bonnie Hunter patterns, I've made a bunch. Some I like better than others, but they are all interesting and make me expand what I do.

Love scrappy but am a crazy patch junky.
|
I love the log cabin too. I love them all. My name is Wendy and I have an indicisive opinion lol
|
My favorite pattern is the stack n whack or OBW's.
|
For me it is log cabin... because of the tradition intrinsic to it, because of the variation of patterns you can get playing with shade and light colors... it is tons of patterns through one block!
|
My favorite is the dresdan plate, but I love all kinds of stars as well.
