Basting! However, I've just started pinning - much easier. Someday I'll get brave enough to try spray basting.

It used to be doing the binding. But that has changed since I learned how to use School Glue to glue the binding in place before sewing it on. A tute from Sharon Schamber. So now I'd say ironing the fabric to get it ready to cut. I usually make Art Quilts, that will never be washed so haven't had to do this step. Lately tho, I've been working on piecing two sides for a new duvet for our comforter, so those fabric were washed and dried and got quite wrinkled.

I do not like to machine quilt :(

Sewing was the highest stress buster of all hobbies. Research supported finding. Keep sewing/quilting.

My least favorite is sandiwiching to prepare for quiolting. I love the cutting and the piecing is thrilling to me because I love to see something come together especially the things I think ar awful until I add the next color.

Binding bugs me somethimes, have gotten tons better with this marker thing I got so isn't so bad anymore.

The hand work is my least favorite part. I have carpel tunnel and bursitis in my right shoulder and trifocals. Hand work is very hard for me. I try to do all I can on my machine, including the binding.

There is a new way I learned on a tutorial to use long skinny boards to layer your quilt on a table instead of on the floor. It looked really much easier using two boards, one for the bottom layer and one for the top. I can't remember the lady's name that did the technique but I jumped to it from a post on this board within the past few days. Maybe someone remembers. I want to give it a try and learn to baste my quilt using the herringbone technique she used with the boards to get it together easier.
