What is your most impressive but simplest quilt?

I'm looking for a quilt pattern for a wedding gift in May. This is our busy time of the year so it needs to be one I can do quickly. The colors I'm planning on using are kakahi, navy, and burgundy. I want this quilt to look like I spent forever making. Lol Is this too much to ask? HELP!!!! Thanks

"The Man Quilt." Although it works up great as a feminine quilt, too.

I like the quick and easy pattern "double slice" using Rose Hill Lane by RJR fabrics. It is feminine and pretty. However the layer cake will only make a 54x63 size..perhaps use several borders to make larger? Or use 2 layer cakes? It is a true "patchwork look" but easy to accomplish. ........sorry, I just noticed you had mentioned colors you wanted to use.

DNP or Bargello. Looking at DNP and not knowing how to do it, it looks really complicated. With a simple bargello, people ask "How did you cut all those tiny squares and sew them back together in that pattern?" If you've done a bargello before, you might even be able to do one with a line of symmetry (mirror image).

Warm Wishes is the pattern I use when I want a knockout look with little effort. Here is one I made for the American Legion raffle. It's not quilted in this pic. The pattern is here: http://www.quiltmaker.com/content_do...DoubleSize.pdf The prints in the pattern pic is perfect for a wedding quilt.

When you limit yourself to just three fabric, I don't think think you can made a Bargello or a Colorsplash quilt (my avatar) which I have in the past won many awards. You might look into BQ2 by Maple Island quilt.

Which pattern have you found the easiest to use? I want to make one.

I like the disappearing hour glass. I did one in about 2 1/2 days, quilted & bound & everything Here's the video:

I am not successful with the way that Jenny does her HSTs which results in bias edges & don't purchase layer cakes so I cut my squares from yardage. Here's a handy dandy chart of different sizes:

If I really need something quick, I go with the single star:

3 fabrics and you can easily make this in an evening. Like after dinner.

Did you look at Rhonda's pieced block of the month for January? You can do the blocks whatever size you want and they are really easy to do. She shows a gorgeous finished design that looks very intricate but is just different placements of the colors of the same single unit. Don't know how to do link but you can find in the blocks of the month section.
