Joanns has a good variety of purples.

I have also noticed that there are very few purples when I need them so I started dyeing my own. Purple is one of my favorite colorways to do.

I love purple too!! I hate mauve, its not purple.

I do have many purples in my batiks stash - its the nonbatiks that lack the purples. I agree there is also the challenge of defining what is a purple as the wheel heads away from the true purple. It is such a great color to play with and adds striking accent to other colors.

Purple my favorite too! Usually find purple mixed in with other colors, like yellow with purple flowers u no. I found quite a few pretty purples at WM. That's where I buy most of my fabric, but don't want to start up that issue again, LOL!

Have you checked thousandsofbolts.com? They have tons of purple. I have had very good luck with the fabrics I have purchased from that site. Quilt store quality. It is very user friendly and I like the way you can put your choices on the board to match them up. Reasonable prices, and good service. The only thing is, I don't think they have free shipping even with a large order.

I love purple but every time i see what is a beautiful piece , I order it and come to find out I have 3 or 4 pieces just like them at home. I must really like it . I just have a short memory :)

My problem is there are so many different options in color families with purple, I find one in a blue family one in a pinkish and one kind of burgundylike and they dont work together in a project. I have been seeing more autumn prints in purples this year though. This was my first quilting attempt all by myself, a year or two ago now, I'd bought the 2 leaf fabrics three years before, waiting to know what to do with it. I was thrilled to find the other two greens with purples in them too that worked with it.

Hobby Lobby carries kona cloth, but not in purple. What is it with purple? Hmmm....
