Yep, Money. I agree! ;)

I don't have many linear fabrics, such as stripes, diagonals, plaids. I always like to use at least 1-2 in a quilt, but I have trouble finding them.

Money is the biggrest hold back on a wild buying spree for any fabrics for my quilting stash. Right now, I am concentrating on tracking down old THERMORE batts. Found some at our local shop --- and as the saying goes "it ain't cheap" when you want about as much as they have to it!.

You are so right tho. Grab fabric from the stash, and then begin to realize have no solids, blenders, tone on tone etc left to pull from. SCRAPPY TIME I guess :-)

I am with you. I have mainly prints. I have enough prints for 30 quilts. I don't have the solids to go with the prints though. It gives me a reason to go to the fabric store and look around.

The white, grey, solids and I am out of tone on tone.

Like you, I found myself without a "solid" foundation in my stash, so after selling a set of cookbooks on eBay, I treated myself to purchase several FQ bundles of solids from Keepsake quilting. They gave me both the "workable" amount of fabric and the gradation I needed across the color spectrum.

The tone-on-tones I have on hand are the white-ivory-cream-VERYLIGHT beige range, with some blacks, reds and greens (think Christmas tones).

I found myself hanging onto fabric types just so I'd have them, and then realized they were no longer that attractive to me any more - so I passed them on through various FQ and scrap swaps, Secret Santa/Secret Sister gifts and Mystery Raffles at my guilds. See my new topic on MYSTERY RAFFLES, which I'll create after I send this out ...

I never have enough neutrals or light lights.

Well, I got this far reading this mornings board, and as she said, run don't walk. Will be getting a large, free shipping, box, so should have some neutrals I was missing.

Don't have your problem. I love the tone on tones, marbled and "blenders" so I have plenty of them. Online stores like Connecting Threads always seem to have a good selection on sale. Check it out.
