whhhaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!! (sniff sniff)

I want to cry!!!! I went this afternoon to the lqs to pick up a yard of fabric that I have to have for my dd's quilt for a pieced boarder and they were out!!!! I am looking online for it but because there is no info on the fabric for who made it or even the name of the design I am lost in a world of fabrics. Its a batik by the way which is why it is going to be soooooo hard to find it. I am desperate to get it I will post a pic of the fabric from my phone as soon as I get a pic of it. (2 min) And this is after a supper duper good high feeling of attaching the binding to the front of a thank you quilt that I have to have done for Monday night. If anyone knows where i can get this fabric from PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let me know. now off to take a pic of the fabric. (the lady at the lqs thought it was a hoffman fabric. but not for sure.)

Try quiltique.com My daughter is the online person and she doesn't know off the top of her head if they have it, but it looks familiar. Here is her email for work [email protected] :)

jayelee 05-03-2012 06:18 PM

Sorry it looked like something I had but must have used it because I have scraps of it

Krisb 05-03-2012 08:08 PM

Peckish 05-03-2012 09:52 PM

Oooh, I have some of that, but only scraps left, not enough for binding. I agree, it will be hard to find, I think it's at least 3-4 years old.

Scraps 05-04-2012 04:50 AM

Looks like Timeless Treasures - good luck.

Scraps 05-04-2012 04:55 AM

Anthology on the website given to you --------fabricfanatics.com

Becky Crafts 05-04-2012 05:06 AM

I just got a newsletter from the Calico Cottage with a fabric by Kaufman and Luna Studios called "Cassie" that reminded me of your fabric. The purple is at the bottom of the page, but I don't know if it's close enough for you to use. You can check it out, anyway. Best of luck!!

Tweety2911 05-04-2012 05:06 AM

It's a beautiful batik. I checked my stash and unfortunately do not have it. I wish you lots of good luck in finding it! Been there and know how frustrating it is.

Caswews 05-04-2012 05:15 AM

love the fabric ... Hope you find it !

spunky 05-04-2012 05:44 AM

If you have the name, check with Mexico Sewing Center 573-581-2047 in Mexico, Mo. If she has it, you might be able to drive here to get it if you need it now.

susie-susie-susie 05-04-2012 05:47 AM

It looks like you need to jump on it right away. A lot of places say they will not be getting any of it anymore. I would get enough to do the whole border and save what you have already used for another project. Good luck finding it. It is very pretty.

Take the advise you show at the end of your topic.....I bet they can get on the computer and find it for you in no time at all. Tks. GG

gin 05-04-2012 06:43 AM

have you tried hancock's of paducah --they have a wonderful selection of batiks

sahm4605 05-04-2012 07:16 AM

Thank you all for looking. I have called and searched all morning and can't find it anywhere. It looks like I am going to be SOL on this. Unless someone has it on their shelf. I might have one chance but not going to hold my breath because it is a long shot. at this point I would pay 15 a yard for it. just because I need it sooooooooo bad for my dd's quilt.

QKO 05-04-2012 07:18 AM

It's a Hoffman Bali batik from 2009. The product number is F2026-222 Hydrangea. We used to have it in stock but are out. Good luck finding it as it was very popular and sold out quickly.

We do have a couple of the companion prints in the exact same colors if there is some chance you can mix and match.

jaciqltznok 05-04-2012 07:23 AM

sewbatiks.com!

glasqlts 05-04-2012 07:26 AM

i ran into this same problem with a quilt for my mom. i got a blending fabric and did a 45 degree match 3/4 of the way down one side and toward the top on the opposite side. it turned out really nice. good luck.

Lobster 05-04-2012 07:44 AM

Maybe try the fabric shops abroad. I've spoken to a few fabric shops in England where they've commented that they get people buying fabric from America, despite the vast increase in cost for them, as the British shops tend to be running a good year or so late on the fabrics, so it's useful when the fabric has run out in America. I've often seen the same fabric being held by a shop for years on end, especially if they have a low turnover. Be prepared to pay a lot more, however!

If you can't find it, do you need any help in working out how to get around the problem?

yippie 05-04-2012 07:48 AM

I think it is hoffman also, I know I have seen it. I was hopping I had some here but no such luck. good luck

riutzelj 05-04-2012 08:38 AM

i saw it recently at the quilt store in colorado springs, colorado. can't remember the name of the store but there are only 2 big ones in the Springs. it was the one on austin bluffs.

Eliebelle 05-04-2012 09:35 AM

Beautiful fabric! If I may suggest...call one of the on line companies mentioned and ask them to look at the pic you posted. Might save a little time - GOOD LUCK!!

lfstamper 05-04-2012 09:36 AM

Try Batiksgalore.com - they carry all batiks and are really helpful. Good luck.

Monroe 05-04-2012 09:59 AM
