Thank you Danmar, Pat and Foxigranny! I have lots more to do after I get the center arcs done. The border is heavily pieced and lots of curves, but they're not 4.4" square, so I should be fine. I've done lots of these PP patterns. I'll post a pic when it's done.

Please we want to see pictures. Most of us are newbees to PPing, and love to see the results of someone elses hard work. Wow...

Sherri.....I make templates from the Carol Doak patterns.
It makes it so much easier when fussy cutting. I also put a dot at the corner of all the pieces on the wrong side....matching is a snap....I have been paper piecing about 4 years and belong to Carol Doak group...I recomend it to all beginners...the members and Carol are fantastic and very helpful...As for books check your library

Hi Craftybear. paper piecing is something I want to learn, but I am still teaching my self to quilt, and I discovered no matter what I do I cant cut a straight line. this is so frustrating because it hurts so bad to lean over any thing to cut. maybe down the road I can learn. Penny

I use my rotary cutter/ruler to trim on the lines (1/4" past the seam line), so I don't normally have a shifting problem. As for putting the together, you must use pins to line up the lines/points. That is why it is helpful to not remove the paper until the top is together.

I used my rotary cutter, ruler and pins too, but I must of done something wrong. The pins were pretty much useless since I had already cut it wrong. Are you saying that I leave the paper on all the pieces until I get the block sewed together? This pattern had 8 pieces to PP. Should I sew all of it together and then remove the paper? Here's a picture of my 1st block. I'm trying to learn off a tutorial off the internet. I don't know anybody who PP's. I haven't even tried to square it up! LOL
