I tried the freezer paper method, but the paper kept slipping, or else the fabric did. Anyway, I got a distorted result and not what I wanted out ofit. Musta not read it right or something, ....

Go to Carol Doak site. She has some free patterns, and some are beginner patterns, I am working on the beginner block and love pping. My next project will be something a little harder. I did get one of her books, am going to try some out of it. This is fun...

I should have read all the responses, oh well thats me. I read somewhere to use muslin. It sounded like a good deal to me because no ripping paper. Its my next try.

My first quilt was PP (New York Beauty). Most of my quilts have been PP and a couple of bargellos which is strip piecing. I'm learning all aspects of piecing with the Jane quilt we are doing here on QuiltingBoard and currently working on Japanese Fans by Judy Neimeyer. I think her PP patterns are the easiest to follow and give you templates for pre-cutting your fabrics.
Here is a pic of what I've done so far. |
