I learn so much from spending time looking over postings. I think I would learn even more from works in progress and then seeing the finished project. Please post more WIP

Have you seen this one? http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-89877-3.htm#2254410 Busy Bee is making a One Block Wonder. Her fabric is horses. If you copy/paste her photos to your desktop so you can enlarge them you will see so much detail. Maybe she will post close ups of each block for us later. One of her blocks has the horses standing in a circle as if they are around a campfire. Good job on the wind mills, Joan.. |

Would you show a photo of how you cut the triangles? I am not getting a visual and I would love to set your tutorial in my
mind so I remember to do it that way. The blocks are super.
Ok, here is how I cut the strips, the ruler I used, another ruler that is good for smaller blocks and the 2 blocks I got from the 3rd strip. These blocks are not in final position, I just threw them together for a quick photo. square 2 from 3rd strip cut, alternating from each side of the strip I used the 12" square but you can also use the triangle ruler square 1 from 3rd strip the end pieces are for scrap, the triangles from one side of the strip go together to make one block |
I'm in too!

Here are photos of the tube squares for my DGS's quilt. The green/blue squares I showed before will go between the stars, maybe. LOL. I want the quilt to be mostly orange so that might be too much other colors. I'll just have to play with it and see.
tube squares half strips half black all strips tube squares one option for the orange star |
That's looking good wildyard

I have a few work in progress photos of my quilt before it was quilted and after it was quilted. Also I am working on a pinwheel quilt and have made several mistakes :) They are still pretty though:) Live and Learn:)
My first Nine Patch before getting it quilted. Quilted done by Dovie. My quilt after it was quilted by Dovie. Dovie did a great job quilting it . I still have to do the binding and then I will show the finished quilt. This is my new Gypsy Gripper that my sister Dorothy sent to me last wk. I love it! After I finished doing 13 Pinwheels, when I looked I had these two funny ones. I still think they are pretty. The one on the left is wrong..... I have 9 of them! I have enough of these to make a small quilt. Dorothy sent me this Lip Ruler too! I love the way it catchs on my cutting mat. |

I have been playing with Jelly Rolls all morning! Here is what I have done and the link that showed me how to do it:)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vOWSp0mTTqE They turned out to be good size blocks:) I use my June Taylor ruler to shape and size the block. Because I don't always have the same size or shape block. I do this so when I get ready to sew it doesn't look odd.... |

Yes...more pics...Sometimes i just look at the pic...they are so inspiring...I love pic of sewing rooms also. We always need new ideas :D :D
|
We need to actually have a "work in progress" category on here...and we need to also be able to edit it so that when we update our thread with pictures we can say it in the heading. That way everything stays all together on one thread and you don't lose track of the project you are watching.
|
I usually don't take pics of my projects until I'm done and rarely ever post any on here! I like to look at everyone elses projects and make comments.
