Thanks in advance for explaining this!

When I drink soda, I usually poor only half the can into the glass, and the extra space is for the can. I'd rather have the large mug rug, rather than using 2.

For chocolate chip cookies.

Society is getting so fat that a coaster just isn't big enough. We have to have a place for snacks next to our tea or coffee. I always thought that the design goes on one side of the rectangle and you sit your mug where there isn't any design. The cup doesn't wobble and you get to see the pretty design even when your mug is sitting. Just a thought.

And some coasters are round, too!

I've made and received several and I like the rectangle size, not having to worry or pay attention to centering my mug. But that is just me. I'd be happy with a larger square one too.

Faye that is just to cute.... Would love a mug rug that was different. Lori was my pal two months ago and made me one with a Ladybug on it... really cute...

I've seen them in different shapes, but mostly rectangular. I think you get more space for your buck on rectangular but you can make them any way you want.

I tell my friends that it's a 21st century coaster! Usually next to my computer with coffee and a cookie.
