Wish I could keep up ...

I feel like I owe an apology to some of you. I want to comment on each and every picture and offer MHOs to post when I have one, but I sit at the computer in the mornings and could be here all day trying to compliment all the beautiful work shown here and keep up with all the posts.

So here's a generic "I love your work!" "I love it here." "Thanks for sharing!" "Thanks for caring!" "Keep up the good work."

ditto!!!!!!!!!!

If we replied to every post, we would not ~ quilt, eat, sleep, or sew. We would have to live on this board. It is astronomical the number of post that happen in a day, then there are the replies to the replies.... OMG I can't keep up. Well I have to GET OFF the computer just to get things done (in a little bit) hahaha

hairquilt 01-06-2014 09:49 AM

Ditto me too! My feet in the morming takes me to coffe pot & straight to computer for ?? time! Love this board So much! In the time since I found this board & now my quilting has become so much more FUN & the info & tips have made things so much better that my quilts have changed tremendsly! Even my color preferences, style, more exact sewing, etc has all added to my enjoyment of this craft I love so much!! Coming year will be exciting for me!

Boston1954 01-06-2014 09:59 AM

I really do not think that anyone feels slighted if you cannot get to everything. There are twice as many people in this group than the city that I was born in. Just answer what you can and do not give it another thought. If we were all here all the time....we would never make any quilts. :-)

aronel 01-06-2014 10:04 AM

Ditto for me also! But I must add that this board has created a monster in me, the need to buy vintage machines is very fierce!! LOL! Keep up the good work, my friends!!

I very seldom post from home anymore. I post while at work and when I am not busy. I work in a family business, so I don't have to look busy. I use my home time for chores and sewing.

sandyfullmer 01-06-2014 01:25 PM

Me too. There are only so many hrs. In each day and can't let the computer time eat them all.

coopah 01-06-2014 04:19 PM

I've had to limit comments as the threads I comment on load up my inbox the next day...and week...and forever unless I go in to "unsubscribe." So while I enjoy seeing all the quilts and reading about everyone's efforts, it's just not possible to comment on each one. Which is a bummer.

KerryK 01-06-2014 04:32 PM

What I really wish we had is a "like" button! So many times I just want to say "hey, I agree with what you said" or "I really love this" or something appropriate ... but don't have the time to reply to all. However, a "Like" button would really help! Is there any way this could be incorporated?

deedum 01-06-2014 05:38 PM

I think you said it all! How many times I thought I would like to give a pat on the back for all the great projects.

Cybrarian 01-06-2014 06:06 PM

That would be awesome to be able to quickly give a pat on the back or something.

sewingsuz 01-06-2014 06:13 PM

Ditto from me on all of this. Just don't have enough hours. I am not as fast as I use to be. Happy 2014 to all of you and your work and knowledge on this board is awesome. Thanks to everyone of you.

ILoveToQuilt 01-06-2014 06:25 PM

We need to have a "like" button a la Facebook!

It is impossible to keep up with posts so to all of you---- I love looking at your quilts so keep on posting and teaching us all.

Retired Fire Chief 01-08-2014 03:40 AM

I feel the same, I love to offer encouragement and even feel really bad when I see something I don't care to respond to. I've only posted a few things and it did feel good to see people reply, especially when they were encouraging. I guess each to our own, some things just draw us out.

Misty's Mom 01-08-2014 03:49 AM

Ditto me too. It's just too hard to keep up with everything on here, but it would sure be great if we could :)

Rhonda Lee 01-08-2014 04:14 AM

We are all like minded on this one. Love it here, love what you all do. Wish I could respond to all.

Reba'squilts 01-08-2014 04:42 AM

Me too DJ. I love this site.....read every am with my coffee. I have learned so much. A great bunch of people hang out here!

Linda1 01-08-2014 06:25 AM

I am the same way. I always look through every thing here even going through a very rough 2013. It helped me stay grounded.

char593 01-08-2014 06:47 AM

DITTO. Thanks for all the pictures of your great works.

OK, so it's not just me!! LOL

luci4 01-08-2014 07:15 AM

I feel the same way, also. Thanks to all that share.

Well said for all of us!

tessagin 01-08-2014 07:23 AM

I was just thinking the same thing. There is sew much talent on this board. I see every once in awhile where I've made no comments on some posts. Sometimes there is just nothing to add. I believe you are all marvelous and creative. With so many minds multiplied by so many ideas it can be overwhelming. I do navigate mostly to photos and mission organization for ideas and inspiration. The different thrift store finds catch my eye often and I envy those who get such super deals. Here's to all on the board, I will tip and toast my glass of wine or Bud or BAiley's to you all.

SusanErler 01-08-2014 07:41 AM

Ditto for me too. I'm new as well and would love to reply and show gratification to everyone who posts. Everyone is so creative and wonderful here. I feel very lucky to have found you all!

onemoe 01-08-2014 10:31 AM

Ditto!!!!!

farmquilter 01-08-2014 11:01 AM

I always feel guilty for not posting a comment on every post/picture I see. Time flies when I am reading the posts and have to get away and do things about the house.
So I would like to say the same as DJ for all those who contribute their wonderful projects for us to see/read/eat and also to laugh.

"I love your work!" "I love it here." "Thanks for sharing!" "Thanks for caring!" "Keep up the good work."

debbiemarie 01-08-2014 01:06 PM

I don't really have a "quilting buddy", it's so nice to hear about all the things that are going on with my friend on the QB.

wildyard 01-08-2014 01:16 PM

I think most of us who have been on the board for a while agree and understand that no one can reply to every post, no matter how much we wish we could! I want a like and a LOVE button! lol... and while I'm at it, how about a what is this pattern button, and a where did you get this pattern button? Just think of all the time we could save with those!!!! :D

You are not alone. I had 4 when I started on this board, oldest being 1953 201-3 that is named Helen after my grandmother who bought it when I was 5 years old. Have added two tredles 1911 66 and Whte Rotary. Have no room to use them at this time, but working on it. Have not bought any more due to lack of room and medical bills.
But it is an addiction for sure.

Calran 01-08-2014 01:34 PM

Ditto from me also, love this board, looking at all the magnificent quilts but just don't have the time to comment on everything. This is a wonderful board.

ube quilting 01-08-2014 01:51 PM

DITTO DJ. There is no way anyone could respond to every thread and I think we all understand that. Sometimes when a post gets to be so large there is no real addition to the conversation so I look but don't add to the thread.

Thanks to everyone for all the enjoyment I have received from just being on the QB.
peace

oldtisme 01-08-2014 06:52 PM

I love this board and have learned so much from it, I feel like I have a room full of teachers touching on all subjects quilting, I drink my coffee reading the Board every morning & my family knows DO NOT DISTURB Mom when she's in the "Board Meeting". Thanks to all for all your help!

Gannyrosie 01-08-2014 07:51 PM

Feel the same. The way this board is set up, even though nice, it has a lot to be desired. Maybe one day they'll figure out a way to have main page, with search engines, and just the pics, no seperate post. Have like a hot topic with some of the comments ( like a news letter). I've only been on this board for a year or so and am starting to see so many dup's. I know the elder's get a little flustered with those. Somehow there needs to be a better way.

QandE2010 01-08-2014 08:54 PM

I agree with everyone that commented. My day is not complete without going to this board and learning something new for the day. It's a great addiction!!

I've been thinking the same thing. Sometimes I just can't think of something to say that hasn't already been said. I like to comment when I can because I know how much I enjoy the comments when I post a picture.

Girlfriend 01-08-2014 09:06 PM

Add me to the list, too. And I, too, like the idea of implementing a "Like" button. Easy way to give a thumbs up.

Moderators, are you listening?

Well stated! No one expects everyone to post on every picture. it really would take a long time to look at this board in the morning, if they did!

nanac 01-10-2014 07:53 AM

So many beautiful quilts, so little time to respond (sigh). Although QB is usually my first thing to do in the morning, and I truly enjoy each and every picture, I cannot post a reply to every picture I see.
Some of the quilts are not quite my cup of tea (colors, etc), but I can appreciate the time and effort spent on each one.
If a particular quilt makes me catch my breath, I do try to respond, and then I save the image to look at later. I probably have about 2000 of those images, thinking I will make that quilt. Someday. When I finish all the other ones I have on my list...
