oh gosh, perhaps the first one without them is best. if not, the last placement would work all right. so cute though!!
no body remembers The Yellow Rose of Texas song. of course, I do! |
No Roses! Actually, the song says, "There's "A" yellow rose in Texas." That doesn't matter much, but I think putting the roses on the block diminishes it. Simpler is frequently better and your block is perfect just the way it is without the roses. froggyintexas

It would look a lot better without the roses. It doesn't need them.
|
If I were going to have yellow roses, I'd find some fabric with them and fussy cut them for cornerstones between the flying geese rows rather than the add-ons. I vote for not add on roses.
|
The stitchin sisters voted just like you all - no roses. She loved the block too.
|
No roses for me. The block looks great without them and I think they sort of throw off the good, clean lines.
|
One yellow rose would be enough, since the song goes she is the yellow rose of Texas..
the block is beautiful alot of work. thanks for sharing. |
Some of the other sisters may use the rose in a future block.

Below is the block I made for my stitchin sister exchange. My person's block was anything TX. I digitized this block and paper pieced the flying geese. The question is, do you think I should also add the fabric yellow roses or leave it alone? If adding roses, which placement do you like best?
Thanks for looking. |
I vote for no roses

Without the roses.

I agree with Tartan. I like it without the roses. JMHO.

Without roses. If you really want the roses you could put them on the back with your signature goes.
|
No roses. Beautiful as is. Great job!

The block is so pretty! I prefer it without the roses.
|
If you got Blue Bonnets, you do not need yellow roses. Lovely block.
|
No leave the roses off. The first block looks best. I think the roses distract too much and draw attention away from the center of the block. Besides it looks as though you have some small yellow in the center of the block anyway, or is that Bluebonnets? I personally like it without the roses, but that's just my opinion.

I think it's lovely without the roses.
