I have a large container full. When little kids visit, I sit them down in the middle of my large braided rug and show them how to string the spools on a long piece of clothes line. I tie the first one so the next won't slide off and it keeps them busy for a while. Better than TV.

My husbands Grandfather use to make things with them...lamps, coffee table legs...who knows where those are now. I have sold them in my Etsy shop from time to time, but I am out of them. But you could look there. Etsy.com

I have lots of them big and small. I will use them for decorations in my shop for added charm.

I was given a sack full of thread that was from a quilt store that closed years ago...some of the spools still have the price on the end ...$ .15 for some, some were expensive, $ .35. I'm saving them but was wondering how one would know the value of a spool? Several have talked about how expensive the wood spools are, what makes them expensive (besides age) and where can I find out about them? Thank you.

I have a large collection also and would be interested in their worth!
