My dad ONCE used moms Gingers to cut linoleum. Notice how I screamed ONCE. That was 40 years ago and it still left an impression on me. My whole family knows that story. She was mad as a wet hen. She didn't cook for him for days. Since he was kitchen challenged, it's a wonder the poor guy didn't famish

Don't have the problem. I don't think my DH knows how to use them. LOL

If I find my husband using the wrong scissors I just tell him how much it just cost HIM to replace them.

My son used my good scissors to cut sand paper when he was sanding a wood project in the garage. I have several older scissors he could have used but he chose to use my good one. Now I keep my good scissors and other quilting tools in a locked metal box and I have the key.

I've heard of using a lock like you'd use on a suitcase to lock the handles together - that'll stop them!!!!

I have two pairs for sewing plus two smaller ones for snipping thread, etc, one pair for cutting hair and four in the kitchen drawer including shears that will cut bones or dowels or wire etc., and a couple DD can use for paper and crafts. Plus one small pair in my purse that was part of a set I bought when I first lived on my own @ 18 (38 years ago), I still have the sewing scissors from that set, and a pair of antique pinking shears that I no longer use.
