abosolutely would be a great combo. Agree with an ivory or cream background or a light with the two colors in it.
It will be a cute baby quilt. Go for it.

I love that color combination
Chocolate and blues would be great! Use ivory as a background too~~ JMHO
I think so, anxious to see it.

I think it will be pretty I always think your Avatar would look good with Baby Boy Blue instead of Pink seeing as how I have a friend who is expecting 2 Grandsons one mid-Aug. the other in mid-Sept so I'm using your Avatar for one and I'm still looking for some thing for her youngest daughter it'll be her 1st baby -So back to Avatar shopping for inspiration :-)

I vote yes for brown and blue.
It'll be awesome! That color combo looks great together. I agree, ivory not white.

Made for a special Aunt with love from Hopetoquilt
Well u know what I mean. Those colors are wonderful together. |
I think so. As long as you have a 3rd color (light) for the background.
I can think of all kinds of combinations. Neat lookin quilt
Would greatly depend on the fabric and shades to each color you used, don't you think? Contrast on this quilt is important for sure.

It depends on where you put the brown. If you make the X in brown you may lose the blue.
Will look great.
I agree!!!

I also am going to try calligraphy with thread. It is a thank you for my aunt for helping me out alot. Any good very brief words you think I should put on the front? "Made with love" and "with love" were all I could think of. I could really use some ideas here too. |
I made it in primary colors as a baby quilt.
I think this is too large of a pattern for blues and browns. As much as I like a bright turquoise with a brown, I wouldn't mix these two colours in a large pattern...something in a small pattern would look much better with those two colour combinations. Again, this is just my opinion.
That would look good also any bright colors. I likes this too and thought about trying it.
What other color will you use, white? If you don't have the baby blue , then go for a more aqua blue. But yes, it does go well together.

Always good to say these things, especially if you feel them and mean them. It comes across nicely. And to me the pattern says "hugs and kisses" so go for it. Show us the finished quilt, please. Bless you my dear. |

I would like to see this quilt in chocolate brown and Robins egg blue and acreamy white backgroud, rather than baby blue! If it is for a baby, it is still blue it will grow with the baby into adolesence. Baby blue is just that.
OKAY, I have a confession to make... I really had my heart set on the brown/blue combo but couldn't find anything that looked right. I started to panic. Picking fabrics is harder than any other part of quilting for me. So, I found two blue batiks on the connecting threads website. There is the same amount of contrast b/w the blues (one dark, one light) as b/w the red and pink in the original. I ordered the fabrics this afternoon. I have to make the quilt quickly as my aunt is coming down on June 17th. The pattern is rather simple so it should come together quickly. I have saved the brown/blue combo for a different quilt that is on my to do list. Thanks for all the input. I really appreciate it. I will post pix when it is done

Every decade or so fashion and I agree. I have always loved blue and brown, and now it is all the rage! It will be lovely.

Yes I think it would be great in blue and brown. Go for it.
i THINK IT WOULD BE VERY NICE WITH BLUE. TURQ. WOULD WORK ALSO WITH A WHITE ON BEIGE BACKGOUND TO SOFTEN. IS THE NAME OF THIS BLOCK "HUGS AND KISSES"
Yes that would look very nice
I LOVE blue and brown together.
I love brown and blue together..it'll be awesome
I am obviouslsy in the minority...but I do not like blue and brown together even though it is the new "in" color combination. Have you thought of blue with a deeper blue and/or lighter blue??? What about a blue and yellow combination---that always reminds me of a cottage look.

How about love in other languages, amore, amor, if you want to go that way? |
