A bit pricey in my area. Here all the guilds sell the ticikets for $1.00 or 6 for$ 5.00. If you have them stapled in lots of 6, people normally pay the $5.00 to get the extra free ticket.

Good Luck and hope it turns out well.

My avatar (a baby quilt) was raffled off for $1.00 per ticket. It cost me $15 for the batting and backing since the top was from my stash. The daycare center sold $45 worth of tickets, and the winner came home with a $15 quilt.

I haven't read through all the replies...but in answer to the question....No... I would not choose to pay $5 for a raffle ticket on any item. I donate to many causes, but I think that $1 or $2 on any type of raffle is a fair price.

to be honest I wouldn't buy one. too high for my budget. I have donated 4 quilts so far and each time they sold tickets for $1 each or 6 for $5. They made loads of money on them each time. and it covered everyones budget

Any chance of getting the quilt appraised and including the appraisal value on a label or the flyer info or whatever you are doing to "get the word out" about the quilt and how the proceeds are going to be used. If the donation is tax deductable (by law) that information might also be useful. Just some thoughts. I would do a $5 but would prefer 3/$10 if that was a choice.

I definitely would pay $5! I have certainly spent that much and more in more foolish ways. People need to consider the reason for the raffle. There is a reason it is called a FUNDRAISER. Good luck to you and your daughter!

I have paid 5. many times. I always feel as though it is for a good cause.

That's what all the raffles around where I live are for, including the ones I've been involved with.

In my area, Raffle tickets for Quilts are usually $1. I think they would be very hard to sell here at $5 each.

I would buy for $5. Especially since it is a large quilt. More than worth it.
