We have quilter here in my town, who every year puts together a quilt for "The Quilts of Valor" Raffle. The raffle is to raise money for postage and more fabrics - batting & supplies for the Wounded Soldiers Quilts we make and send to these heros in the hospitals. The tickets are $1.00 each - or - 6 tickets for $5.00. I bought $5.00 worth of tickets .... and honestly was going to buy more tickets as the sale went on, until the raffle was held. They sold over $5,000 worth of tickets and one day I got a phone call ..... that I had won the 2009 Quilts of Valor. I believe the more attractive the price of tickets are .... the more tickets are sold .... thus the more $$$ are raised. |
to pricey for me i have not seen any raffled off quilt prices that much around here

I would not hesitate to spend $5 on a ticket if the quilt was nice and sounds like this one will be VERY NICE!!

You might make more money total by selling the tickets at a dollar apiece, or 6 for five dollars.
It is a curious thing, but people like to think they are getting more for their money..... So far on our guild quilt this year we have sold four thousand tickets...and will sell more of the thousand we have left. The magic is a few that encourages the rest of us to get out and hustle them. |
I paid $10.00 for a ticket on a quilt at the local quilt show in the spring. The money was going to the cancer society. Because the tickets were being sold by a quilt shop there was no tax deduction. I loved the quilt and felt it was for a good cause so had no problem spending the $10.00.
Of course I didn't win but the money went to a good cause. |

I think maybe $2 each or 3 for $5 would be reasonable. I know personally I would buy more if they were cheaper. I used to make raffle quilts for our elementary schools Octoberfest (for kids) and we sold tickets for $1 or 6 for $5. The first one I made took in almost $1500. Good luck, it is for a good cause

I think price has to do with cause and your location. I've paid $1.00 and $5.00 for quilt raffles and once 3/$5.00.

I probably would not...if it was a friend yes their cause....but not someone I did not know....$1 a ticket or 6-7 for$5....I think you would sell more this way...just my opinion today could change again..
