For our quilt raffles, we get $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00.

Most of the quilt raffle that I have seen are cheaper. I think more people would buy them.

Same here. I have even given money to NOT sell me a raffle ticket because I didn't want the item!

That would depend on the area where you are trying to sell.
More depressed areas, cheaper tickets. More affluent areas, higher prices. |
I would have to see the quilt to say, I might at 1/ $5. Now if the tickets were 2 /$5 or more , I would buy $10 worth or more, because my chances of winning would increase. I think you would make more money by increasing the ticket #'s.Good luck. :D

This is a really good point I didn't think of. Thanks!

I think you'd be better off giving people more choice in how much they want to spend. At $5 or nothing, you're apt to get a lot who just walk away.

I would not think twice to pay $5 or even $10 for a raffle ticket for a quilt. We had a benifit a while back and the quilt went for over $500. I think on average people can see what a quilt takes to make. I think it is a wonderful idea, and if you decide to go lower, $5 for one or 3 for $10 is good. This depends on what type of people you think your buyers will be. Students..Working people...retires folks and so on!

I frequently make and raffle off bed sized quilts for fundraising for our dog rescue. I sell chances at $10./each or 3 for $25.
Remember that it is a way for people to donate to charity, and have a chance at a prize- If it is a charity- make sure folks know that. Also, if it is a 501 (c) 3 charity, make sure they know that the donation is tax-deductible. |
How awesome you are for doing that!
Yes, I am going to give each person who purchases one a flyer that contains the information on the mission trip (who, what, when, where, and why). When displaying the main goal will be to put forward the mission trip so that when people approach the booth it will be for that purpose...second to that will be "do you want to buy a raffle ticket to support this group...". |
