I actually have two one with a single hole and another I can needle over to either side ..... many.. many uses.

??? Which foot is it for the Viking? Wonder if I have one, and didn't realize how to use it??? Thank you

Most all of the machines use to come with a joining foot as one of the standard feet included, which is the same as the SID foot. If it is labeled joining foot it cost a lot less.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us! I have this foot also but haven't had a chance to use it. I will fire mine up later on this week. I love it when you guys critique a new tool or book.

My Bernina foot 5 looks like it might be a SID or joining foot, it's got the flange in the middle of the foot. Must give it a try and if that doesn't work the walking foot sole sounds like it sure will, thanks for this info.

What is the price range for the new sole plate for the Bernina walking foot? Sounds great!

I have the artista 640 and the #10C is my SID foot.

I paid about $40 for mine. However, I am in New York and I had to order it from Connecticut so I probably paid a little bit more than in other places.
