Well enjoy your book (Quilts for Baby by Ursula Reikes).

That is just crazy. I heard a person who works for UPS say one time that if they see a box marked fragile they will throw it around on purpose just to see if it will break. That is so sad that people have total disregard for other peoples things. What is this world coming to?

I had a priority package with an expensive original etching in it, but failed to insure. It came to me wet and ruined with a note from the post office that it got wet--duh.

having worked in frt for going on 30 years i have learned a few things about shipping stuff out

1. name and address on envelop/box with tape over it, another address label INSIDE THE PACKAGE

2 anything fabric goes in plastic.. when i mail stuff out in a big box, first thing in the box is an open heavy duty trash bag... fill the box, close & tape the bag..put the extra address label in , then close & tape the box... you only control what you put in your box to ship, not what the guy who's box is next to yours is shipping... could be bleach.. could be anything

3. my dm puts the addressee's address as both mailing & return.. so either way it gets where she wants it to go.

4. make sure you let whomever is getting a package know when you mailed it and the expected due date..

5 always get delivery confirmation

When you receive a package like this you should file a complaint. My Huz had a subscription for a magazine that was part of his job. Every time it came the cover would be ripped off, or the back ripped off, or several pages gone or damaged. This was no cheap magazine either. So he filed a complaint. The MM wasn't happy, as it reflects back to him. Anyway that was the last time he got a damaged magazine. It's like anything else...if they can get away with it they will. I toohave watched PM's, UPS, FED-X toss packages like toys. I had a FED-X guy stand 10 feet from my front door & throw my package & hit my door. We're paying for a service & this is not service. It's more like taking your car to be fixed, they charge you, but never touched the car.
