Another reason ..... to allow for the change in yardage, when it shrinks in the pre-wash!

And as I often say ... it's for my inventory aka stash! :)

me too

not me.. I buy only what i think I need.. unless DH is with me.. then he tells them to cut double of what ever I ask for... he knows me so well... and is my enabler!!! LOL

I buy for stash, not for a specific project, so it's all extra yardage. :)

ALWAYS, that is how we get "stash".

I do for sure...been there to many times of not having enough fabric and finding out the fabric is no longer availble. I always buy an extra 6 inches. If I don't use it I have that much more to add to my scrap tote. When I get enough scrap I sew them into scrappy quilts.

I don't normally but I have had patterns where I wondered if the designer had ties the fabric companines. I have made 2 just in the last couple of months that the fabric requirements were considerably more than what I needed to make the top.

I do. I have come up short in the past and do not want to be caught short again.

I DO! Otherwise, I wouldn't have 6 plastic tubs and some cardboard boxes chock full of fabric to enjoy looking through, unfolding and refolding, reorganizing into a new storage system I've thought up, transferring from one location to another, etc. It's a GOOD thing, though. And among quilters, I don't think I'd stand out as a weird-o. lol

I do.
