I love them all but the Lone Star will always be my favorite.

I make blocks but I enjoy seeing what everyone else does. I like to try different blocks and just play around with colors and arrangements. I guess I don't really have a favorite!

I love lots of different styles, but keep coming back to landscapes, applique and modern.

I like sampler quilts, cant get bored doing one. Eleanor Burns has several. My favorite is Stars Across America.

I agree that the traditional blocks make me feel more connected with past generations of quilters. I get very sentimental when I look at quilts my grandmother or great-grandmother have made using only needle, thread, scissors and fabric scraps. I think I would have enjoyed the quilting bees that were held in the 'old days'. Thanks for giving me a moment to reflect.

I guess the log cabin block is my favorite traditional quilt.

My Bucket List of quilts that I want to make is getting longer and longer. I should not have waited until retirement to get serious about quilting. :)

I love all quilts, but love to hand applique because it is something I can do when I work night shifts and when we are traveling. Paper piecing intricate quilt patterns is another favorite. I too love the NYB and Mariners compass. I very, very seldom will do the same quilt twice. Love making each one different. My most favorite are Jan Patek and Kim Diehl quilt patterns.

I love quilts that are graphic (no flowers, limited number of colors (like black and white), limited number of fabrics (four is the max), one or two different blocks. Having said that, I have seen some really beautiful quilts that ignore my rules...lol. And I love sampler quilts done in a few colors.

I love the modern fabrics and designs. I don't use patterns, just get inspired by what I see or dream up. I also like lots of white background or prints alternated with whites. One of my favorite modern designs is the Bento Box. Another is anything with a wonky setting.

All of them. I do find myself drawn to paper piecing. I just completed the 50 fabulous paper pieced stars group on here. I ordered Judy Niemeyers new Mariners Compass pattern yesterday. I have fabrics for a bargello called bright nights bargello. I also find myself drawn to Jaqueline de Jonge but haven't done one of hers yet. I keep finding myself drawn to more and more difficult designs. Some day on of them will probably send me over the edge. I also like a lot of the quilts of illusion.

I think I would have to say I tend toward more traditional quilts, however, I love batik fabrics and have, hopefully, collected enough batiks in enough colors to make a Boston Commons quilt - saw one on the cover of a quilt magazine years ago, made by Helen Weineman of Heartbeat Quilts, and decided that I have to make it for me. I love making quilts for our family reunions where I pick a color, based on family colors, my family members send fabric, I make the quilt and we raffle it off. My favorite quilt had to be a Dresden Plate that I did with bright blue plates on a white background, all of which happily coordinated as if I had chosen them myself, and which one brother proclaimed was my "best quilt ever", and that was before he won the quilt. LOL. But to me, it's all about the fabrics, as they can make the quilts "sing". I just like making all of them for a variety of reasons.
