I sew a sleeve & slip in 2 layers of plastic canvas & stitch up the end. All washable like that

I use foam core board.Cut it with utility knife and make a fabric sleeve for it so if necessary i can remove and wash .

I use the corragated plastic cardboard Its light weight and Lord knows if every thing but the kitchen sink is in there you don't need extra unnecessary weight :lol: :lol:

I use the plastic canvas in a "sleeve". I figure that way, if the recipient of the bag forgets to remove the bag bottom, it is washable.

I just finished a big bag that didn't call for any stiffener in addition to the heavy-weight fusible that was used throughout, on both the outside and the lining pieces.

plastic canvas is my fave for it is light in wt. Sometimes I use two layers and I make a sleve to go over it the size that just fits into the bottom of the bag. For one of my big wide totes was the width of an empty bolt of fabric and dh taped two tog it was great

I use form board for the Dollar Store. Just cut it to fix whatever bottom size you need. Plus, you can make many for just $1.00
