I just bought transfer printer paper at Walmart to do this. I haven't tried it yet, but it was recommended by a friend. I remember someone on here talking about someone that would do your photos on 8X8 squares, for about $5 each. I would love to find that info again, as they said the color was imbedded in the fabric instead of just ironed on. I am worried about how well the transfer will hold up with washing. It probably won't be too bad as this will be a wall hanging.

I got the fabric paper that goes in your printer and you print on ink jet printer from a file. Then follow directions to cold water set. Mine came out beautiful. It is a little high priced, but sale and/or coupon at JoAnns brought it down. Woul definitely do it again.

Here is some great information, http://www.quiltingboard.com/resources/article-86.html
IMHO I wouldn't use the transfer paper as it peels off too easily, I would use the pre treated fabric sheets that you print on.

Buy a sheet of printed treasures from your local supplier and follow the directions. Depending on the size of block you are doing you could arrange the photo to duplicate more than once so you have spares to work with.

Bubble Jet Set is a liquid you can use to treat fabric for printing. It's MUCH cheaper than buying transfer printer paper. Here's directions on how to use it.

I use Printed Treasures all the time. Mostly, I like to use them for my quilt labels. On my last t-shirt quilt, I included a graduation picture of the young man the quilt was for along with a personal message from his parents who paid for the quilt. For my in-laws 50th anniversary, I made a quilt using Printed Treasures and included their wedding photo as well as pictures of the kids and grand-kids. They loved it!

I use Printed Treasures. {Get it at Joanns and use a coupon.} You can just run it through your home printer as you would regular paper. Have done several quilts with it and it washes up great.
