I went to Joann's yesterday for their sale and bought a June Tailor Quarter Cut ruler. It has slits in the plastic each 1/4" to make your cuts more accurate. Has anyone used one of these? I got a good price on it (50% off, then 10% more off) but I don't want to take the plastic off of it if it's something I won't use.

I'd appreciate any comments on this ruler.
    Thanks!
    Sue

If you are careful when you fold your fabric you can tape off the same amount across your ruler and cut strips without moving the fabric or the ruler.

Don't put a lot of pressure on any one strip of plastic, they will break. I've had mine for quite awhile though and it hasn't.

I have something close to it, that my sister gave me. I have never used it though, because the slits are an inch apart. Maybe when I do my next Log Cabin.....

I have the June Tailor ruler that cuts in 1/2 inch increments and I LOVE it! It makes cutting so much quicker. I'll definitely have to look for the 1/4 inch ruler.

I have the June Tailor slotted rulers that cuts 1", 1/2" & 1/4" and use them all the time. You just have to be sure that the fabric is folded straight(as with any cutting) so you don't get the curves on the fold.

At a sew in last week one of the girls cut out the entire baby quilt using this and even got it sewn together. It is now on my list to get.
Unwrap it and start playing!! :-)

Thanks everyone! You have convinced me to keep it. I'm just too darn frugal! It's not at all that I can't afford it - I just want to be sure it's something I'll use. You have all convinced me to take the plastic off of it and try it! Thanks. There is always great advice on these boards!
