Good morning happy quilters,
I have a question today about, fabric marking pens that won't wash out.
I want to put someone's name on a quilt, and looking for a marking pen that I can use that won't wash out.
Have a great day

I have always used Pigma permanent markers, but make sure you HEAT SET them after, because they definitely wash out otherwise. I put some heavy black lines as spider webs on the wrong spot on my recent white block, realized it before pressing, and washed it out with regular bar soap.

I got a set of fabric permanent markers at the fabric store. They work great.

I also use the Pigma pens, but as thimblebug6000 says you need to heat set them. I use a pressing cloth when doing this.

Yup... Pigma here too. I have a set of the micro tipped ones. I got them last month at the Des Moines quilt show.

Try a Laundry marker pen.

Pigma pens for me too. I also found felt tip markers for fabric. Both types have to be heat set.

I'd suggest to NOT use Sharpies. It says right on the box not suitable for fabric.
