question about using 2.5" squares
#15
Your quilt, your way. It will just create a different "look" to your use of the 2.5" squares. Why not? experiment and see if you like the result. Some times I will mix in 2.5 X 5" squares to just mix up the look. It is all part of your creativity! Have fun and post a picture of you efforts.

Eleanor Burns makes her trip around the world quilt in this fashion. There is nothing wrong with off setting the rows. It will look cool imho.
I did something similar but with a square in a square block.

I did that with a jacket I made. I was using rayon batik and I was concerned about trying to match everything with such slippery fabric so i made rows of squares and offset them. It came out really nice and looked good.

2.5 inch squares, no matched corners! Sounds like a really relaxing idea! I might have to steal it!
Enjoy your project. The lovely thing about quilting is while there are rulers ;-), there are NO rules ;-).
