Question re: Pfaff Passports
The thread started by michelem reminded me about a question re: my Passport.
What's with the stupid hood/cover for the machine? Is it just for dust control or is it just to rattle when the machine is transported? I'm certainly not packing it back into the box to take it to class. It'd be impossible for me to carry. So what earthly good is it?

All my Pfaff machines have a hard case cover, when not sewing I use it to keep my machine clean and safely stored. When I go to class I usually use one of my rolling trolleys for transport as I can include my needed sewing supplies and only have to deal with one case. I have taken my machine using just the hard case and again it is for protection of my sewing machine, mine doesn't rattle though there is styrofoam in the case to hold it secure.

I keep mine in a rolling trolley when not in use... without the cover, because it would not fit otherwise. I can't leave it out as I sew on my dining room table. Plans are - when I get settled again - to use my bigger Pfaff at home and just use this one out of the house. Probably will toss the hood - I'm not planning on travelling too far afield with the smaller machine so the trolley should be fine.
