Hi Ann Marie-I am new to Quilting Board and not sure how to use the site. When I saw the quilt you are working on I thought you might be able to help me. I recently picked up one of Erica Kaprow's patterns called "Everything's Blooming" which is very similar to the pattern you are working on. The question I have is what type of wool did you use for the background? My pattern calls for 2 yds of 100% wool for the blocks background and the borders. I saw one place on the web that sells merino wool by the yard but I am not sure if this is the correct wool. Can you help me?

I use mostly Perle Cotton for my wool appliqué, some wool and silk floss. I do often blanket stitch my pieces to the background I also use a lot of decorative embroidery stitches on my appliqué
