How about "free" training to use the new machine?

And, what is the warranty period?

What is recommended for on-going maintaince service?

Ask if the warranty follows the machine. When I was shopping I looked at Janome and the dealer said that if I moved it "might" not. I didn't buy a Janome.

I'd want to know how long the machine has been out and is it slated for retirement soon. From what I've heard on here it seems like when some of them retire they no longer offer support; that bites. Even Microsoft offers updates and support on thier outdated software longer than some of the sewing companies do.
