Default Quick tee shirt quilt question

I’ve done quite a few tee shirt quilts...but my customer wants a queen sized quilt...only has about 20 small tee shirts...has anyone incorporated fabric blocks with shirt blocks to make a larger quilt? I’ve only done sashing strips between..and if I use fabric squares should I also use the stabilizer I will use on the shirts, to make it more consistent?

Use the lightest iron on stabilizer you can find. the t-shirt fabric stretches cross way and the interfacing goes up and down, do not put the stretch of both the same way. I have used fabric with all of my t-shirt quilts and never interfaced the cotton fabric.
Good luck with your quilt.

I made one where many of the shirts had different sized logo's so to keep it simple I used themed fabric to border the t'shirts so they were all one size. If you think it will help I'll see if I can find a picture.

I make one that had limited shirts. I used the back of the shirts and just has some plain squares.

Yes you can add pieced blocks or embroidered blocks to make it bigger. You can use both the front and back of a tee shirt if there is a print on them. You can add what ever you want to make it bigger. Just use our imagination. Anything goes.

You could do a shadow around each block to make them larger as well.

You can also use the back of the t-shirt. Nothing says it has to be printed. And you can use the lightest Non-Woven fusible interfacing to back the t-shirts and keep them from stretching. No need to use interfacing for knits. The idea is to keep the knit from stretching.
And don't ever quilt through the printed part of the t-shirt, especially if it is iron one; printed is okay.
And yes you can mix in quilting fabrics.
