I use the Eleanor Burns method which gives you 8 HSTs when you finish. They are a little oversized and I trim them down. I'm not good with triangles and when I try other methods I tend to have problems.

Tomorrow I will post a tute using 2 pieces of tape on my machine bed/table to make HST's. No rulers, no special tools, no marking. Good for 1/4" seams, too!

I use the index card method too. It replaces having to mark the center line across the block. Just start by dropping the needle in position, then line up the card. Sew beside the card and it's done. If you happen to stray and sew ONTO the card, it's only paper, easy fix !

I have had inklingo for several years never used it, then forgot about it. It was one of those impulse buys that I had to have. Maybe I should dig it out and try it.
