I maintain that any three layered fabric held together with stitching is a quilt.

This link calls it a quilt

If you can sleep under it, it is a quilt....ART quilts are not quilts....but they have 3 or more layers so technically they are quilts..sigh

The very first quillow I made was a quilt and I added a pocket, no difference. If I was to make another I would do it same way. They are great. In fact I am thinking of doing just that so yes to answer your question, at least mine are quilts with pockets, so should they be called hmmm pocquilt? Naw quillow sounds so much better or maybe quillpoc? LOL.

Oh Lesley, that quillow is so cool! There was a class on making a quillow at my LQS right before Christmas which I didn't go to, but these are really fun I think and in MHO--a quilt!

My answer to your question is: yes. It has three layers, a blanket only has one.
I have made probaby a hundred of these, lost count. The people who receive them love them and actually have come back and asked for another one when they outgrew the old one.
It makes a wonderful gift for children since they get lots of use and they can carry them in the car, to camp, on sleepovers.

Hi,Maybe quillows are different here in the U.K but are certainly quilts because they are pieced and quilted just the same but with a pocket to fold it into,so making a cushion.Wonderful for open air concerts or picnics.A cushion to sit on, and when needed something to cuddle up in and keep warm-- perfect. My husband loves his. I wish all of you a very Happy and Peaceful --(also pieceful) New Year. Letty
