I was able to roll the quilt tightly. I had a small table behind me and another table to the back of my DSM, so there was no dragging, just the weight of the roll on my shoulder ... or it that was heavy then I put it under my arm. I started in the center area and did that for the lengths going from the center. Then I unrolled a side and had that under the harp of the DSM.
The teacher who showed us how to do it easily actually used bicycle clamps - like those used for keeping pants from going into the chain area - to help her roll up her quilts.

No matter what size I puddle and push and shove. If you think you only have half width and length at any time under the throat. I like to think outside the quilt and try to stabilise first even if I use thread which I will take out or dissolves later. Keep pattern easy. Next time do it in quadrants and the only difficult time is joining the last seam.

Barny, I also use my ironing board to the left of my machine. The height is adjustable so just make it even with the sewing table.
