Help fellow quilters! I've gone and one it now.
A few weeks ago I contacted our Support your Troops site asking if they would be interested in quilts for soldiers. They replied they'd love quilts to go to Germany for wounded soldiers - they need cheering the most - and please make them colourful.
Well a neighbour's son just became Canada's 142nd casulty in Afghanistan - so I have an added impetus to get busy and make some. Wish I could be making one for him. Instead I'll be making them in his memory.
I thought I'm make some scrappy bargello and tube quilts - anything fast and fun. Are there any other patterns or ideas out there? I will doing quilt as you go.

I am so sorry to hear of his loss. I am currently making a gurney sized quilt for the Citizen Sam project for a returning wounded soldier.
I only hope that your making quilts in this young man's memory will give you some solice.

You will be blessed beyond belief with this project. May you find the time, money, gumption, and fortitude to continue as long as possible.
