I'm a newbie to the quilting world, who's Elinor Burns? Not that it really matters because a new quilting magazine is reason enough to be excited!!

Oh cool! That sounds like fun!

Eleanor Burn's has a show called "Quilt in a Day" here it is on Friday Mornings about 9AM, on PBS, it's a great show. She always has tips and tricks to sewing blocks together more easily. She's quite fun to watch. Her current series is egg money quilts, so she talks about the Depression and penny glass, ect. it's nice to get a little bit of history with the blocks.

El Burns is my idol. She uses the best methods and her books are easy to follow.
You can watch her on the web at Quilters TV. Or you can join QNNTV for 24 bucks a yr. and see all her shows.

Does anyone record her shows? Especially the egg money series?

i do record her shows but have never recorded the quilt in day shows - not on purpose, they just aren't the ones being shown in my area right now. The magazine will be really neat - something a bit different then what is already out there!

    Bevanger,
I think she creates her shows around the books. You can find Egg Money Quilts on Amazon.com and it's way less expensive than what i paid at the quilt shop. YOu can purchase it new or buy a used copy for even less. To save on shipping, I always make sure that I order over $25 worth of merchandise to qualify for free shipping. Then you'll already have the patterns and instructions. I think the books are more complete instructions than the show.
