I wasn't sure if this is 'chit chat' but I saw that was for non-quilting topics, so I guessed it should go here under "main".

OK, here it is the evening before I join the 40-club. Hubby just told me he is planning on taking me to Lancaster for the day tomorrow (Shady Maple all-u-can-eat smorgasbord for breakfast first), then to 'quilt shops' to go shopping. My question is, if you were me, what would you plan on getting??? Hubby NEVER EVER took me to Lancaster for shopping before. I literally do not have any quilting friends, except for here. I told him I was planning on coffee @ 9, mimosas at 10, then quilting in my PJs all day.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

(who's STILL hoping for tons of snow on her birthday!)

Happy Birthday and have a wonderful day in Lancaster - if I lived close to you (Wisconsin) I would schlepp around the shops with you.

He's trying to do something nice but I would want to do what you have planned. It is great that he is interested in your hobby, business...??? There are some great quilt shops up in Lancaster. Do some research and make sure to go to ones that sell fabric rather than ones that sell quilts unless that is what you want to do. Also there is an awesome quilt museum in Lancaster.
I hope you get snow on your bd too. I LOVE snow.

I would love it if my DH planned something like that for me. Have a great day and buy some great things!

I'd say go to Lancaster but keep your plan as back-up! Weather will be a big part in what you do on Wednesday. Happy Birthday!!

Happy birthday!! I love Lancaster but haven't been there in about 4years. Take your camera. when i was there most of the shops let me take pictures. Even if you don't find anything you want to buy (LOL) you will get tons of ideas. Have a great time.

Thanks, everybody. So would you get a new pattern, fabrics, etc. etc.?? I actually just ordered Eleanor Burn's Quick Trip book. I love the larger floral quilt in it. I THINK it took 24 fat quarters. Anybody got the book??? I won't receive mine until probably next week.

Oh, I also thought of dragging him to the quilt museum. :) I love that place.
