I'm glad you got to go to a good show. One great quilt show was cancelled here due to the floods but I just found out a quilt guild show is still going to be held. So happy 19th to me!! I get to go!!

I went yesterday and it was fabulous- overwhelming how many great quilts there were. I especially loved the Silk Road exhibition (and got to hear the quilter talk about her quilts), the cow quilts, and the Masterpiece exhibition with quilts from some of the 'big names'.

I had a quilt there, and it was such a great experience for me to see it there (and hear some people comment on it) that I really want to try to get another one for two years down the road (next year is too soon- quilts take me forever.)

I went to the Northwest Quilt Expo in Portland, OR in September, for the third year in a row. It's a great quilt show!

I was at the DesMoines show last year, went specifically for the Egyptian tent quilters display. I liked the DesMoines show. But was it me, or did DesMoines have a funky odor to it, especially at night?? Someone told me it was a rendering plant.

I've never noticed Des Moines smelling bad. Now, Cedar Rapids- that place stinks most of the time... (it's all Quaker Oat's fault.)

I was at the Des Moines show on Saturday. It was a great show full of so many amazing things to see! My DD and I spent the whole day there....and of course....we brought home bags full of fabrics and books and anything else quilting that we thought we couldn't live without. We had a great time.

We noticed a slight oder in Des Moines but it was not a rendering plant. These really smell bad. Cedar Rapids has Quaker Oats and that has an oder but it's not too bad. It could always be worse.
