Default Quilt software

I was so excited! Yes says hubby, go ahead and buy EQ7 to use on your new Macbook.

Yippee says I and clicks along to the EQ website.

When I get there I find that due to the new EU VAT policy EQ7 are not able to sell their downloadable products to the UK. Ok, this is a bit of a blow but I follow their advice and find the UK supplier. I get to the UK suppliers website and, yes, they do sell a physical copy of EQ7. However, they only sell the product for use with Windows. I need to use it with a Mac. Well, I think, I can buy it for Windows and then buy the migration product to use it on the Mac. Oh, but wait, I can't buy the migration package because EQ can't sell software downloads to the UK!

I am a bit upset because I really wanted EQ7. I think my only option now is to look for another quilting software package that I am able to purchase. I don't know of any other quilting software packages.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

No recommendations but I've got to be honest I haven't taken the time to learn EQ7. I could kick myself a thousand times over for AGAIN buying something and not making myself learn it as soon as I get it. Good luck!

I am so sorry you cannot find a work around this! I have EQ7 for windows, and did migrate to the Mac version once it was available. Can you go directly to the EQ7 website in the US, and as for help there? Seems like there should be a hard copy for Mac available from the company?? It took some concentration for me to learn it at first, but I do love using it. Good Luck!

I have own a version of EQ since 1995. I would send them an email inquiring how you can purcahse a digital copy. Good Luck. I LOVE EQ7. There is a learning curve with this program but we have a tutorial written by Rhonda located on this website.

I've tried to learn using EQ7 but couldn't get the hang of it either. I was so excited getting it, but now I'm bummed out.

Funny thing : My name is also Joyce. Could we be jinxed?

I used EQ on my Mac on Parallels, the software that lets you run PC software, and it was very slow, clunky, and unreliable. I'm glad you are finding a way to have the true Mac version; I don't think it would be worth the money otherwise.
