Quilt - State Flower Blocks Embroidered by 88-year old aunt
Several months ago, I discussed (on a different thread-don't remember which one) pictures of some blocks I had assembled into a quilt-top, using a calico cotton for sashing and borders. Well, that quilt-top is now completed, and packaged to send to my cousin in Oklahoma for quilting. The further I proceeded with this project, the bigger the project got. So, not only did I make the quilt top, I made a bed skirt to match the quilt top, then made new drapes from the white percale and the border fabric, appliqued a large letter "F" for the Frantz family name, then made a valance from the cotton calico border fabric. We don't have them hung yet, and, I still don't have the quilt completed -- it needs backing, batting, and binding (I've already made the binding though). As soon as we can get this all put together, I'll try to take pictures of the entire room and post them. I am excited about the entire project, because I think it's going to be a real heirloom decor!

It can be such fun when one thing "explodes" into ideas that you can hardly wait to get working on....and then the thrill as you see your vision becoming reality......so exciting. It sounds like you are in that place. Looking forward to seeing pics posted.

Thanks for all your encouragement, folks. I really appreciate it -- I'm such a rank amateur that I really need the encouragement from time to time. Actually, I think we all need that encouragement from time to time!
Thanks again.
