Quilter/Artist
#21
I think being an artist is the ability to throw preconcieved notions out the window and do what you want to do. So what if you don't use cotton fabrics, who cares if it's not a 1/4inch seam and you use glue and band aids to put things together. It's about the journey and the destination.

When I've created a design all my own, even using traditional block patterns which I do prefer, I feel that I have created art.
When I make a quilt from a commercial pattern I feel that I have made a quilt.
I actually don't like "art quilts" (no offense to anyone who makes them, it's just not my thing).
