Red face Quilter's Cut'n Press II

Hi Everyone:
This probably sounds like a silly question, but....I have a June Tailor Cut'nPress II that I have had for a number of years. Over the years, the pressing side has gotten a little scorched and a little dirty looking.
I'm just wondering if anyone has ever tried washing theirs? I realize I could just slap it into a muslin case and iron on that, but... Anyway, if anyone has ever had any experience cleaning one up, I would sure appreciate hearing about it.

Thanks!

No, I try not to use it that often because the mat has cracked and it is really dirty on the one my friends.

I tried using upholstery cleaner on the pad but that didn't work. Here is a quick way to cover it. Cut a piece of fabric about 1" bigger then the pad. Using a tracing wheel along the edge between the mat and the pad will poke the fabric underneath the pad. It will stay in place and easy to pull out when you want to replace it. I used a bright batik to cover mine and it's pretty. A thin solid will allow the grid lines to show through if you need those.

Thanx! Guess I'll forget about washing and just try recovering! Seems a shame that there isn't a way to clean it up. I don't really use the lines, because they are all wavy on mine.
