I have one and use it now and then. It doesn't work if you like your quilts scrappy, but does give you totals and such. It tells you how many strips to cut for borders, bindings, etc. which I find very helpful. A friend gave it to me for Christmas - don't think I would have bought it otherwise. I use it as a calculator more than a fabric calculator.

My daughter gave me one and I really like having it. I use the functions built in (how much fabric do you need for binding or backing), but find I use it a lot just having a calculator close for my quilting.

I use Robert Kaufman app on my phone and I really like it. It is a free app. It figures borders, binding, backing and such. Having it on your phone makes it handy when you are in the fabric store and need to buy fabric.
