boring 10 min block if all four squares same fabric and accent diffeant. looks like one big block with an accent. I did do some fun free motion quilting for each four square that work great ! did the curl the UTUBE talkes about and sewed down the accent that way..
neonatal incubator cover to simulate night and day.. darken "room" by covering the incubator.. fun project. just not showing well with same fabrics in the four squares. accent was fun !

if long-arming the quilting, the edges of the center would have to be sewn down. with the speed of the LA, it would be nearly impossible to sew over the edges without them turning up. i'm sure that the price would significantly increase if the LAQ had to be careful of all those centers. :)

I'm a new LA quilter. A friend trusted me with a couple of charity quilts made with 10 minute blocks. One was stitched down, the other was left open. I managed to get my closed toe foot stiched down and stuck between the loose block and the background fabric. After I carefully removed the stitches, to no ill effect, my confidence level went up 10 notches! I could recover from anything! I finished the quilting by staying about 3/4" away from the edges of the diamonds, then did a blanket stitch on my regular sewing machine to secure them. You need to stitch very close to the edge to prevent "turn up".
