Fabric Galore

I have found that if you don't want to do free motion quilting you can do some beautiful quilting with your even feed foot. I even bought a book full of designs that you can make using your even feed. I just completed a crib quilt and I used my even feed foot to create curves from the top of the quilt to the sides of the quilt evenly spaced. I did this from both sides of the quilt so they crossed and formed a diamond effect. I think it would look very nice on your quilt. Just my suggestion.

I finished the top today, although I didn't press the last seam yet. It is my first time making a border of any sort, but I cheated and pieced it. I am going to put it up for little bit and think about it now that it is done. I've got 10 donation quilts I can fuss with in the interim.

I love your top!!! It's really beautiful.
I have sent at least 6-8 quilts out to be longarmed and never had a problem.
I think that lovely top needs more than straight lines.

SusieQOH, I appreciate your feedback and I think you are right. The cost for custom quilting is worth it for something heirloom and intricate but this is not either of those. And I'm not even sure how I could sandwich it with the space I have, let alone quilt it in a way I'd be happy with the results. I'm going to leave it folded up for a little bit but the last time I made anything bigger than a lap quilt and for myself, I ripped it down to make donation quilts. I foresee that here. Definitely disappointing end of the story, but I have pictures so I have the satisfaction of going from a vision to the final top. :-) Appreciate the candid feedback here.
