    Thanks for the great ideas. It looks like 1/4" inside the wedge is a good way to go (oh, so many threads to bury...although I do see that one of the photos shows continues loops. That is very pretty.) I love the different designs in the center circles. And I think I can do almost anything on the 'outside' of the block.

    Really enjoying the photos! Dresden plates are just my favorite.

    When I do the 1/4" inside the wedge, I don't knot and tie off each wedge. Bring the stitching down to the center circle and just travel in the ditch along the edge of the circle to get to the next wedge. You can SID all the way around the circle as well, then that circle is continuous, with some overstitching between the wedges. (That's how I did the one with the peach background, and I seem to remember it winning a ribbon at our state quilt show a few years ago.)

    I guess I'm a lazy quilter, I hate stops and starts and try to avoid them whenever I can .

    No, it's blocks. If you look carefully you can see the seam lines. But I posted that picture as an "OMIGOSH" - it's over the top, must have taken 1000 hours to do (well, almost). I wouldn't worry about the quilting being too dense.

    Interesting... if I decide to go wall hanging size, I might try something like that. Now, I'm not that good- but I enjoy quilting way more than piecing, so something like that seems very cool.

    Some gorgeous quilts put on here. Wonderful quilting. I hope to make one someday and I would applique the Dresdens on by hand.

    Wow! Right before I clicked on this thread, I thought "I really need to go to sleep" but I clicked the thread anyway & man oh man! Am I glad I did! I got to see those SPECTACULAR quilts! The tops are beautiful in & of themselves but with your quilting? Stunning! Breath-takingly fabulous! I love them all! Thanks for posting them! You are a true artist!

    I LOVE the way your quilting follows the seams on the Dresden Plates! It almost makes them look like suns & those are the rays. Beautiful!
